Sept. 2004
GREENFEED™ 27/75-0-0
GENERAL APPLICATION GUIDE
LIQUID REGULATED SLOW RELEASE FOLIAR & DRIP NITROGEN
General Information
Apply to crops with adequate water volume for crop coverage if applied with a boom sprayer, i.e., 20-50 gal/ac or if applied by air or in a low volume spray, use 5-10 gal/ac.
If combined with Crop Protection Chemicals (CPC), maintain proper manufacturer recommended dilutions. Always jar test CPC combinations for compatibility before tank mixing, and perform small trial applications and observe for any combination injury. As GREENFEED™ has a high alkaline pH (9.1), a buffering agent should be used when mixing with those CPC’s that are sensitive to high pH solutions.
GREENFEED™ is "rainfast" under normal conditions in one to four hours following application.
Gallons/Acre Pounds Nitrogen/Acre Equivalent Nitrogen To:
Soil Applied 1-5 Ratio
1 2.90 14.50
3 8.70 43.50
5 14.50 72.50
GREENFEED™ applied foliarly to blooming plants increases fruit or nut set as a result of increased NH3-NH4+(from GREENFEED™) which creates increased arginine biosynthesis. By increasing arginine content, polyamine activity increases, increasing blossom set.
RECOMMENDED FOLIAR RATES
Almonds 1-1 ˝ gal/ac at pre-pink bud to early bloom to increase set, repeat in 30 days at 1-2 gal/ac for "set" retention. Use higher rates for larger trees and/or when more foliage is present. Post Harvest: Apply 3-5 gal/ac in 1 or 2 applications with zinc.
Apples 1-1 ˝ gal/ac in bud swell to king bloom and 1-1 ˝ gallons 30 days later. 1-1 ˝ gal/ac 30-40 days prior to harvest for sizing. Post Harvest: Apply 3-5 gal/ac in 1 or 2 applications.
Avocados 1-1 ˝ gal/ac at pre-bloom to increase fruit set and repeat in 30 days. Subsequent application when nitrogen needs are evident. Use higher rate on larger trees.
Snap Beans 2 gal/ac at early bloom (with fungicide). For best performance, should be applied in split applications.

Corn 2-3 gal/ac after pollination.
Corn (Seed) 2-3 gal/ac after pollination.
Cotton 1 ˝ gal/ac at early bloom. Repeat application in 3 weeks with 1 ˝-2 gal/ac. Use higher rates on larger plants and higher foliage density.
Cranberry 1 gal/ac and 3-4 applications per season to increase set and improve size.
Cucumbers,Squash, Pumpkins, Watermelons, Cantaloupes 1-2 gal/ac at early bloom and repeat approximately 4 weeks after bloom applications.
Garlic Spray 1-2 gal/ac directed over row from 10-12 inches height. Make 3-4 applications.
Grapes(Table) 1-3 gal/ac when nitrogen needs are evident or an increase in canopy is required to reduce sunburn fruit.
Grapes(Wine) 1gal/ac at bloom to set fruit. 1-2 gals/ac three to four weeks after bloom or when nitrogen requirements are determined.
Grass(Seed Production) 1-1 ˝ gal/ac at pre-bloom, 2-3 gal/ac at seed head elongation. Can be applied to Penn Cross Stolons at 1-2 gal/ac.
Hazelnuts 1-1 ˝ gal/ac at early leaf expansion and repeat at 14-21 day intervals. Apply 45-60 days, prior to harvest, for nut fill. Post Harvest: Apply 3-5 gal/ac in 1 or 2 applications to strengthen buds.
Lettuce 2-3 gal/ac after thinning. Repeat 14 days later and again 14 days prior to harvest. Under very wet conditions, 5 gallons per acre by air.
Mint(Peppermint, Spearmint) For row or established mint. 2-3 gal/ac- end of March early April. 2-3 gal/ac- post flame late April early May. May be combined with fungicide. 2-3 gal/ac-mid June. Combine with pesticide. 2-3 gal/ac-mid July. Combine with pesticide.2-2 gal/ac-Post Harvest. Can be combined with other nutrients. Can be combined with crop protection chemicals when properly buffered. Greenfeed pH is 9.1. Apply in sufficient water, minimum of 20 gal/ac to provide good coverage to foliage.
Olives 1-3 gal/ac at pre-bloom and repeat in 30 days. Apply 2-3 gal/ac four to eight weeks prior to harvest to increase fruit size.
Onions 2 gal/ac when onions reach 6-8 inches, repeat during bulb fill, and again two weeks prior to harvest.
Apricots Cherries Nectarines Peaches Plums Prunes 1-1 ˝ gal/ac at bud swell to early bloom when increased fruit set is desired. Repeat in 30 days to maintain increased set. Apply 1-2 gal/ac prior to pit hardening for improved fruit size, fruit firmness, and reduction in "green shoulders". Rate dependent upon tree size and conditions such as heat and/or moisture stress effects. Post Harvest: Apply 2-3 gal/ac in 1 or 2 applications to strengthen buds and for winter root storage of N.. Compatible with zinc, boron, copper, and other micros.
Pears 1-1 ˝ gal/ac at pre-bloom and repeat every 30 days until four weeks prior to harvest. As some varieties (i.e., De Anjou) are more sensitive under certain conditions, caution should be exercised. Post Harvest: Apply 2-3 gal/ac in 1 or 2 applications.
Peppers 1-2 gal/ac at early bloom and repeat 14 days later to improve fruit set and canopy to reduce sunburn. Apply 1-2 gallons 30 days prior to harvest.
Potatoes 2 gal/ac prior to tuberization and 2 gal/ac at early bloom. A third application of 2 gal/ac 2-3 weeks following bloom spray may be needed through fertigation system. Can be applied in pesticides. Buffering of pesticides may be necessary as GREENFEED™ is pH stable at 9.1.
Rice 1-2 gal/ac at panicle initiation or 45 to 55 days after planting for early varieties and 55 to 65 days after planting for late varieties to stimulate continuous development and fill of rice kernels. Adequate nitrogen must be applied pre-flood for optimum overall plant development. A second application of 1-2 gals/ac may be applied at flag leaf stage.
Safflower 1-3 gal/ac at early bloom.
Seed Crops 1-2 gal/ac at early bloom.Three to four weeks later, apply 2 gal/ac. Sixty to thirty days prior to harvest, apply 2 gal/ac to fill out seed.

Walnuts 1-1 ˝ gal/ac when nitrogen needs are evident (mid June to late July).
Wheat 1-3 gal/ac at flag leaf stage depending on residual soil fertilizer or rainfall, etc. Flag leaf stag according to Feekes scale is generally the sixth or seventh true leaf on the main stem of the plant. Can be applied with herbicides at 1-2 gal/ac. Can also be applied with Tilt in 2-3 leaf stage. Can be applied in low volume or undiluted.
Young Trees For growth response use 2-3- gallons in 100 gallons water and spray to wet. Make 3-4 applications per growing season to stimulate root growth as well as top growth.
Drip Applications
All Fruit Trees, All Nut Tree, Grapes(Raisin), Grapes(Table), Grapes(Wine), Vegetables, GREENFEED™ is much more efficient in soils (especially light soils) because it is a larger molecule and, therefore, provides a more efficient slowly available nitrogen source. Use 1 –5 gallons per acre in drip applications. Can be combined into blends such as 8-8-8 and/or UN/32 GREENFEED™ in light soils, under typical coastal temperature and moisture, should be effective for 9-12 weeks.
